With their unique combination of properties, fluoropolymers are an important enabler for those sectors where the EU is determined to strengthen the EU internal capacity and decrease reliance on other regions of the world. Given the current lack of scalable alternatives in cutting-edge applications, fluoropolymers are required to meet several EU objectives, including the European Green Deal, the Chips Act, REPowerEU with renewable energies and Hydrogen and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. Convena asks that Fluoropolymers be exempted from the proposed PFAS restrictions.
